What is CVT? CVT stands for continuously variable transmission. The major components of the CVT system are driving pulley, driven pulley, CVT belt. It provides the infinity number of gear ratios within a particular range of ratios. How CVT works? While a traditional transmission uses a wide variety of intricate parts to shift between ranges of present gears, most CVT systems work through a pulley system. In short, this system consists of cones at each pulley connected via a chain belt. The cones can move to increase or decrease the belt diameter to change gear ratios, allow for quick shifting into the needed ratio for increased power, and boost fuel economy. One pulley in the CVT is connected to the engine and the other directs power to the wheels. The width of these pulleys changes based on the needed power; as one gets larger, the other gets smaller. What are the steps need to follow for the BAJA SAE team? Step1 - If you are belonging from the old team so first ensure how many old members ready to continue the new team. Note - If you are a pure new team then follows from step2. Step2 - Start the recruiting process in the mid of February. Tip- Always tries to recruit members from 2 nd year, if your team contains 5 or more old members from 3 rd year and 2 to 3 members of the 4 th year.
