What is CVT? CVT stands for continuously variable transmission. The major components of the CVT system are driving pulley, driven pulley, CVT belt. It provides the infinity number of gear ratios within a particular range of ratios. How CVT works? While a traditional transmission uses a wide variety of intricate parts to shift between ranges of present gears, most CVT systems work through a pulley system. In short, this system consists of cones at each pulley connected via a chain belt. The cones can move to increase or decrease the belt diameter to change gear ratios, allow for quick shifting into the needed ratio for increased power, and boost fuel economy. One pulley in the CVT is connected to the engine and the other directs power to the wheels. The width of these pulleys changes based on the needed power; as one gets larger, the other gets smaller. There is a second, less common, type of CVT that uses a series of discs and rollers, but it operates on similar p
As we know all know this year some circumstances are create due to the Co-vid virus which is not favor in BAJA SAE 2021. But we talk on this topic soon….
What are the steps
need to follow for the BAJA SAE team?
Step1- If you are
belonging from the old team so first ensure how many old members ready to
continue the new team.
Note - If you are a
pure new team then follows from step2.
Step2- Start the recruiting process in the mid of February.
Tip- Always tries
to recruit members from 2nd year, if your team contains 5 or more old members from 3rd year and 2 to 3 members of the 4th year.
Step3- Always try
to make a team of 25 members because the full team shows your college student's
interest in the Baja project and this gives a good impact on virtual Baja
judges. And personally more members’ means more hands for fabrication, more managerial
power, more minds for designing and thinking. Overall more probability of competition
of vehicle in minimum time.
Step4- Make the
pre-planning with your team members to minimize the fabrication time for
increasing time for vehicle testing.
Request- please 4th
year and 3rd-year
students do not join the team for Baja placements only because of one member
with these minds set in the team back down the efforts of the other 24 members.
Step5- Do
the subdivision of the team in the following departments
1.
Roll cage
2.
Powertrain
3.
Brakes and tires
4.
Steering and suspension
5.
Analysis team
Note- Not forgot to
give focus on the sponsorship team because without money teams play a defensive
role during the event.
Step6- Before start
designing finalize your driver. Always tries to make co-driver from 2nd-year
students if possible. And the main driver you make from the 4th or 3rd
year.
Step7- For the
fabrication process gives the responsibility to two members of team one from 3rd year and others from 2nd year these members called Head
fabricators.
Note- Head fabricator means they are supervisors and
doer, they take the responsibility of fabrication in hands it does not mean these
only 2 members do fabrication they play a role like a leader in fabrication
team.
Step8- during the
fabrication process starts working on reports, marketing presentation, etc.
Because with the dynamic events static events play a role of needed 300 points.
These 300 points do not depend on vehicles or drivers.
Step9- After
completion of the fabrication process please ensures your vehicle follows all
rules of rulebook before going for the first run.
Step10- Do the hard
testing of the vehicle, not to enjoy but for finding the spares parts
requirements.
Note- Don’t panic
by thinking about results in events. Always be motivated and believe in
learning.
Thank you
